We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health! Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and while many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Let us tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We consistently follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
- We will be pre-screening patients with a questionnaire for you to fill out and submit online prior to your appointment. If you or a family member are not feeling well, have had a fever in the last 48 hours, have shortness of breath, a cough or have traveled outside the U.S. in the last 14 days we ask that you reschedule your appointment.
- Patients who come into the office showing signs of illness will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
- We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter and leave the office.
- We have an oral rinse (Colgate Peroxyl) that we may ask you to use to help decrease your oral viral load.
- You will notice that our waiting room is not currently offering magazines, children’s toys and snacks, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- Appointments will be spread out to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We greatly appreciate your patience during this time.
- To help us comply with social distancing guidelines, we are also asking that only patients in active treatment enter the office.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. We value your trust and loyalty and very much look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
We may be wearing more protective wear than usual. Don’t worry, although we look different you are receiving the same great care!
